Weigh-in this week was great, as you can see. I’m 3.4 lbs down from last week, even dealing with Shark Week still. That puts me at 27 lbs forever gone, 13.4 of that on Keto alone since November 1st.
To say I’m happy about the weigh-in is an understatement. I was expecting a loss but not that large of one. I started DDP Yoga 2 weeks ago, and just the improvement I’ve gotten in my upper body strength alone has been worth it – even if I didn’t show a loss.
I also hit a milestone with this loss. I’ve now lost 10.7% of my starting body weight. Woot! I’m also super close to the my -30 lbs milestone. I should hit that before the New Year! Double Woot!
DDP Yoga Day 13
New Wake-Up 2.0
20 minute walk (Dreadmill) 2.5mph
I was up today before my Fitbit alarm went off. My body has started doing that. Waking me up anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour before I’m “scheduled” to wake up. So I got up, let the dogs out, and did my wake-up routine.
Today I pushed myself though. I did the full unmodified pushup in plank position. No knees for me! My form needs work, I could feel my butt raised up a little so that’s something I need to work on – but I challenged myself and did it!
I still have Energy to do later as well as my walk on the Dreadmill. 😀 Going to put everything I have into my workouts today since tomorrow’s rest day. So far today I feel a lot better than last Sunday. This is the end of my second week doing DDP Yoga. The difference in my strength, especially my upper body, is already noticeable. I love it.
The back pain I had going into this – which was my real catalyst to start DDP Yoga again – has all but disappeared. I still feel twinges when I do anything that requires persistent bending or leaning over (like doing dishes), but it’s nothing terrible and will hopefully be eased as I lose more weight.
So yeah – rest day tomorrow as the last day of my second week, then weigh in on Tuesday. This has been a week of challenges. I faced them and conquered them. I’m very happy with my progress so far and look forward to stepping into Week 3.
Day 13 – Week 2 rest days are counted

The biggest win that I’ve seen so far in this lifestyle change has been the effects on my daughter. She’s 10, and has been well on her way to spending her life like I did – first the chubby girl in class, then the girl no boy pays attention to in high school, then the fat girl in college, and on to the obese woman in her 30s. My husband and I are both overweight, and she hasn’t had much in the way of a healthy role model until now.
Since starting keto and eating clean, I’ve noticed she’s been very interested in being in the kitchen with me while I cook. She even likes to chop up the veggies (very carefully!) We’ve banned sodas from the house, no longer eat out (fast food has contributed to all of our figures), and don’t keep any “junk” in the house.
She’s still a little spoiled and slightly lazy – something I’m slowly working on curing. We homeschool her, and in the last month, I’ve worked on adding more chores to her schedule. She’s responsible for gathering her dirty clothes and getting them to the laundry room. She has to keep her desk area cleaned up, which includes vacuuming. As of yesterday, she’s now doing my DDP Yoga workouts with me. I asked her today if she wanted to do the Energy with me or one of the DDP Yoga Kids workouts – she chose the Energy. ^_^
I hope that some of these choices and adjustments I’m making will make a big difference in her present and future. I want her to be healthy but also happy and comfortable in her body. I think her seeing the positive changes in me will help her think positively about herself.
