Soooo, I challenged myself today. I’ve been eyeing that app countdown to the live workout all week, working up the nerve to just jump in and try it. Well, I did. And there were tears.
It was dubbed “beginner beginner,” but boy, I put everything I could into it. I engaged the entire time, watched my HRM carefully to not hurt myself, but I must have gotten hot or just emotional? Who knows, but I started sobbing a little at one point. Not from pain – I didn’t hurt myself. I was just super shaky and couldn’t stop sobbing. It’s slightly embarrassing, but there you have it.
I kept doing the poses as well I as could. My kid, who is just awesome, turned a fan to blow on me to help cool me down, kept bringing me water so I could push on. I didn’t quit. I did the full 50 minutes (or 45 he started a little late), to the best of my abilities. Now that I’m fully cooled down, I feel AMAZING!
I ended up burning 390 calories, and my heart stayed in the cardio zone for 33 minutes. Despite the tears, I’m kinda proud of myself. Since starting – 10 days ago – I’ve only alternated between Energy Classic and Fat Burner Classic – and Fat Burner really kinda kicks my butt when I put everything into it. This one – even though it was a beginner class – let me put a lot into it and get a lot back out.
My strength is building, but I still groan inwardly when it’s time for pushups. I modify on my knees of course, and do what I can (usually hold for 9 – though I’ve been trying to go down more lately). I can do much more than I did 10 days ago, that’s for sure.
But yeah. It’s my workout, I’ll cry if I want to!
